Decorative tattoos have been applied to the skin for thousands of years, yet
one-half of people with tattoos consider removing them.
Highly specific laser technology now permits the destruction
of tattoo pigments with minimal or no injury to the overlying
or surrounding skin. Lasers break up the tattoo pigment into
smaller particles that are then slowly removed by our own
cells. It generally takes 6 to 12 laser treatments to completely
remove a tattoo depending upon the colors present and the
age of the tattoo.
