

Medical Director
Dr. Wirtzer grew up in New York City and received his
undergraduate degree from Queens College. In 1970, he graduated
from medical school at the State University of New York at
Buffalo. He moved west and completed his medical internship
and dermatologic residency at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration
Hospital in West Los Angeles.
After completing his residency in 1974, he opened his office
in Van Nuys. Dr. Wirtzer moved to his current office and ambulatory
surgical center in 1994. For many years he was an assistant
clinical professor of medicine/dermatology at UCLA.
Dr. Wirtzer is board certified in dermatology by the American
Board of Dermatology (ABD). He is recognized jointly by the
ABD and the American Board of Pathology for achieving special
competence in dermatopathology.
Dr. Wirtzer is well respected by his
peers as well as his patients.
He has been honored by election to the boards of two of the
most
prestigious dermatology societies in the world—the American
Academy
of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
